| This series of
studies has been focusing on Personal Success.
Some may believe Personal Success is an ultimate
destination. But, true Personal Success is in the
journey, NOT just a destination. Otherwise, here
would not be any Personal Success. Furthermore,
Success and total prosperity, as defined by one
of my mentors of the past, Mr. James E. Tolleson,
is living a balanced life ... Mentally,
Spiritually, Physically AND Financially.
According to him, failing to achieve success and
total prosperity would be the result of being out
of balance in any of those four major areas of
life. In addition, being out of balance in any of
these areas would be like driving your car down
the highway with one (or more) flat tires. The
sad fact is, far too many people have it together
in one or two of the four areas, but dont
in the other ones. We have already looked at the
first two areas ... the Mental and Spiritual
Aspects of Life. Now, well take a look at
the third area ... the Physical Aspect of Life.
But, before we begin, why are we made the way we
are? We have two arms, two legs, two ears, two
eyes, one nose (with two nostrils) and one mouth.
The human body is a masterful work. And, we are
made the way were made for a reason, not
because God slung some mud up on the wall, and
some of it stuck. Neither did we evolve from
single cell aquatic ameabae that came out of the
water, onto dry land. However, we are unique.
Were special. Were the handy work of
God! But, what do we know of God? The Bible tells
us everything you and I need to know about Him
... **IF** we make the time and effort to dig
into it.
Leviticus 11:45 For I am the LORD that
bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be
your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am
holy.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and
they that worship him must worship him in spirit
and in truth.
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one
Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of
your calling;
1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit
are we all baptized into one body, whether we be
Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and
have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet,
that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a
spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me
have.
John 1:18 No man hath seen God at
any time; the only begotten Son, which is in
the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
1 Timothy 1:15-17 This is a faithful
saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;
of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I
obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ
might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern
to them which should hereafter believe on him to
life everlasting. Now unto the King eternal,
immortal, invisible, the only wise God,
be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Colossians 1:12-17 Giving thanks unto
the Father, which hath made us meet to be
partakers of the inheritance of the saints in
light: Who hath delivered us from the power of
darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom
of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption
through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Who is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn of every creature: For by him were all
things created, that are in heaven, and that are
in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be
thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or
powers: all things were created by him, and for
him: And he is before all things, and by him all
things consist.
Isaiah 46:9-10 Remember the former
things of old: for I am God, and there is none
else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring
the end from the beginning, and from ancient
times the things that are not yet done, saying,
My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my
pleasure:
Romans 4:8-18 Blessed is the man to
whom the Lord will not impute sin. Cometh this
blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or
upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that
faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
How was it then reckoned? when he was in
circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in
circumcision, but in uncircumcision. And he
received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the
righteousness of the faith which he had yet being
uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all
them that believe, though they be not circumcised;
that righteousness might be imputed unto them
also: And the father of circumcision to them who
are not of the circumcision only, but who also
walk in the steps of that faith of our father
Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
For the promise, that he should be the heir of
the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed,
through the law, but through the righteousness of
faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs,
faith is made void, and the promise made of none
effect: Because the law worketh wrath: for where
no law is, there is no transgression. Therefore
it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the
end the promise might be sure to all the seed;
not to that only which is of the law, but to that
also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the
father of us all, (As it is written, I have made
thee a father of many nations,) before him whom
he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead,
and calleth those things which be not as though
they were. Who against hope believed in hope,
that he might become the father of many nations,
according to that which was spoken, So shall thy
seed be.
Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us
make man in our image, after our likeness: and
let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle,
and over all the earth, and over every creeping
thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God
created man in his own image, in the image of
God created he him; male and female created he
them.
2 Corinthians 3:12-18 Seeing then that
we have such hope, we use great plainness of
speech: And not as Moses, which put a vail over
his face, that the children of Israel could not
stedfastly look to the end of that which is
abolished: But their minds were blinded: for
until this day remaineth the same vail untaken
away in the reading of the old testament; which
vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this
day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their
heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the
Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the
Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the
Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with
open face beholding as in a glass the glory of
the Lord, are changed into the same image from
glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:41-47 There is one
glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon,
and another glory of the stars: for one star
differeth from another star in glory. So also is
the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in
corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is
sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is
sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is
sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual
body. There is a natural body, and there is a
spiritual body. And so it is written, The
first man Adam was made a living soul; the last
Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit
that was not first which is spiritual, but that
which is natural; and afterward that which is
spiritual. The first man is of the earth,
earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
1 John 3:20 For if our heart condemn us,
God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all
things.
1 Chronicles 3:20 And again, The
Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that
they are vain.
Psalm 94:11 The LORD knoweth the
thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their
thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom
divided against itself is brought to desolation;
and every city or house divided against itself
shall not stand:
Luke 6:8 But he knew their thoughts,
and said to the man which had the withered hand,
Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he
arose and stood forth.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye
not that your body is the temple of the Holy
Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and
ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a
price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in
your spirit, which are God's.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Know ye not
that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile
the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the
temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
Leviticus 19:26-37 Ye shall not eat any
thing with the blood: neither shall ye use
enchantment, nor observe times. Ye shall not
round the corners of your heads, neither shalt
thou mar the corners of thy beard. Ye shall not
make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor
print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. Do not
prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a
whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the
land become full of wickedness. Ye shall keep my
sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the
LORD. Regard not them that have familiar spirits,
neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them:
I am the LORD your God. Thou shalt rise up before
the hoary head, and honour the face of the old
man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD. And if a
stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall
not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with
you shall be unto you as one born among you, and
thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were
strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD
your God. Ye shall do no unrighteousness in
judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a
just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God,
which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and
all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore,
brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable
unto God, which is your reasonable service. And
be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye
may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God.
1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that
women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with
shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided
hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1 Timothy 4:1-11 Now the Spirit
speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some
shall depart from the faith, giving heed to
seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their
conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to
marry, and commanding to abstain from meats,
which God hath created to be received with
thanksgiving of them which believe and know the
truth. For every creature of God is good, and
nothing to be refused, if it be received with
thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of
God and prayer. If thou put the brethren in
remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good
minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the
words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto
thou hast attained. But refuse profane and old
wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto
godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little:
but godliness is profitable unto all things,
having promise of the life that now is, and of
that which is to come. This is a faithful saying
and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we
both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust
in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men,
specially of those that believe. These things
command and teach.
